Helpling is the leading marketplace for cleaning services in the Germany. We are not a cleaning agency or cleaning company, we’re an intermediary platform that helps match customers like you with self-employed cleaners. Through Helpling, you can book a cleaner in 60 seconds.

Fair pricing is very important to us. All of the cleaners registered on our platform set their own hourly rates, and so you as a customer can choose your price range by selecting cleaners. During the booking process, you can compare profiles and prices and find cleaners in a price range that suits you best. We will only ever match you with cleaners that fit your desired price range.

The self-employed service providers were advised to carry a respiratory mask and gloves and wear them during cleaning appointments. They were also encouraged to cancel cleaning appointments early on in case of any symptoms or discomfort.

We strongly recommend that you are home for the first clean of your booking to show your cleaner around. Some customers choose to give a spare key to their cleaner, but this decision is based on individual preferences. Please remember that Helpling takes no part in the key-handling process.

Please have all the important cleaning supplies at hand: Vacuum cleaner, mop with a bucket, all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, lime scale and calcium deposit remover, toilet cleaner, various cloths/sponges.

We do our best to help you find the right cleaner for your home. However, if for any reason you would like to change your cleaner, you can easily do so in your account and send a new request for another cleaner. It is important to let us know why you would like a replacement so we can then find you the perfect match.

Yes, in the unlikely event of damage, you don’t have to worry. All cleaners are covered by a liability insurance which covers all damages above €25. For damages below €25 or the first €25 of any larger damage, you can of course always directly reach out to the cleaner involved and align with him or her on the compensation that you may expect from them. Yes. You are insured in the unlikely event of theft up to 5,000 euros for each cleaning appointment. You can find detailed information here. If you have any questions, the customer support will be happy to help.

Note down all your wishes and priorities on a checklist. This will help your service provider to focus more specifically on your preferences.

For services from independent service providers, use the chat function in the app or on the website to discuss any special requests with your service provider in advance. For professional services, there is no specific preparation required; just make sure to be on-site at the agreed time for the service.

When booking a cleaning, please provide the necessary cleaning supplies. We recommend these materials. Make sure that all utensils are functional so that a good cleaning result can be achieved. Feel free to ask your cleaning staff after the first cleaning if any additional materials will be needed in the future.

When booking professional services (e.g., window cleaning), all necessary cleaning supplies and utensils will be provided.

Please make sure that your cleaner/household professional, or service provider has access to your house or apartment at the agreed time. We recommend that you personally greet your cleaner/household professional or service provider before the first cleaning/service appointment. This way, you can guide them through your apartment and discuss your instructions and wishes together.

Before a cleaning appointment, you can alternatively contact the cleaner/household professional via chat to coordinate a possible key handover in advance (e.g., leave it with a neighbour).

Yes. You don’t have to worry in the unlikely event of damage. The Helpling platform maintains liability insurance with a coverage amount of 5,000,000 euros, in which each cleaning staff is co-insured in the event of damage to their respective customer’s property. If the customer claims damage caused by the cleaning staff’s activities, Helpling reports the damage to the liability insurance. This covers damages from 500 euros. For damages under 500 euros and for the first 500 euros of a larger damage, you can, of course, always contact the cleaning staff directly and agree on appropriate compensation. Please note: The decision on the regulation of damages is made solely by the liability insurance. Helpling has no influence on this.
